Coronavirus claims 18 more lives in Sindh

270 fresh Covid cases detected in province

Eighteen more coronavirus-related deaths and 270 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Sindh on Tuesday, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's House on the day.

The CM stated that following these developments, the Covid-19 tally in the province had climbed to 254,285 and the death toll to 4,244.

According to the data shared by the CM, of the new cases, 155 belonged to Karachi, 31 to Hyderabad, 11 to Jamshoro and Umerkot each, 10 to Shaheed Benzairabad, eight to Jacobabad and Tando Allahyar each, five to Shikarpur and as many to Sujawal, three to Naushero Feroze, two to Ghotki, Matiari, Sanghar and Larkana each and one to Qambar-Shahdadkot, Dadu and Badin.

Besides, the CM said, with 645 more patients regaining health, the total number of recoveries reported thus far had Sindh added up to 236,499.

He said as of Tuesday, 13,542 Covid-19 patients were under treatment, with 13,030 in home isolation, 13 in isolation centres and 481 in hospitals. Of them, 439 patients, including 59 on ventilators, are critically ill, he added.
