27 suspects held, weapons seized

ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad police on Tuesday arrested 27 suspects from various areas of the city and recovered drugs, liquor, stolen valuables and weapons from their possession, a spokesperson shared on Tuesday.

Following the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Dr Syed Mustafa Tanveer, all Zonal Superintendents of Police (SP) have accelerated their efforts to curb anti-social elements in their respective areas.

Secretariat police arrested three accused namely Maki, Azam and Waris and recovered two Kalashnikovs and one 30 bore pistol along with ammunition from their possession while Koral police arrested Pasheem Khan and recovered one 9mm pistol from his possession.

Similarly, Khanna police arrested an accused named Tufail and recovered one 30 bore pistol from his possession while Karachi Company police arrested three accused identified as Misbahullah, Jaber and Riaz and recovered 20 bottles of wine and 140 grams of heroin from their possession. Separate cases were registered against all suspects while further investigation is under way.
