Child rape cases on the rise across K-P

Police arrested the accused after lodging an FIR in the case and opened investigation

PESHAWAR:

The incidents of sexual violence against children have been on the rise across the province as more and more cases are being reported. Police registered a case in the rape of two children and arrested the accused in the Banamari area of Peshawar district.

A man identified as Nawab resident of Lalazar Colony, lodged an FIR with the Banamarhi police, stating that his six year old son was playing outside his house with other kids. Their neighbor Umar Saad lured the child into his house by giving him his smartphone. Once inside he overpowered and raped the helpless boy. Similarly, another man also approached police and blamed that his son, a seven year old child, had also been raped by the same accused five days ago. Police registered an FIR in the case and arrested the accused. Both the victims were sent for medical examination.

It is worth mentioning that two children were raped in Gujjar Ghari area of Mardan district by a driver inside a seminary room a few days ago. Police also arrested the accused after lodging an FIR in the case and opened investigation.
