‘You’ creators making author’s book into another series

New show 'Providence’ will be also be a thriller

The creators of You have recently announced a new series that is to hit our screens very soon. Showrunner Sera Gamble is set to reunite with writer Neil Reynolds to pen the new series based on another book by author Caroline Kepnes who published You in 2014.

The new series will be titled Providence, same as the book. Upcoming serial is being developed by the Peacock streaming service, reports Entertainment Weekly.

The book, titled Providence, is a story of a 12-year-old Jon Bronson who mysteriously vanishes along with five other children in his class. Some 10 years later, he reappears as a grown man with no recollection of his childhood. But his school crush Chloe Sayers never loses hope that Bronson was out there somewhere. As Jon reappears, he attempts to reconnect with Chloe. However his time away granted some horrific supernatural abilities, specifically ones that keep him from being close to Chloe.

Gamble and Reynolds will also serve as executive producers on Providence, which is set up through Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

"I'm thrilled to team up with Sera, Neil and Greg once again and bring to life another adaptation of Caroline Kepnes' gripping novels, this time with supernatural thriller and mysterious love story, Providence," Susan Rovner said in a statement. "On the drama development side, we are ramping up cross-genre series that have wide appeal and Providence is a shining example of the types of shows we're looking to bring."

Season three of You started filming in November last year. Safe to say we will be seeing Joe Goldberg on our screens very soon.
