ISLAMABAD:

At least two terrorists were killed by security forces during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Nargosa area of South Waziristan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Monday.

“During intense fire, two terrorists Usman Ali and Waheed Lashtai were killed and one was injured and apprehended,” the military’s media wing added.

The ISPR further added that the killed terrorists were active members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Sajna group and were experts in improvised explosive devices (IEDs). They were also terrorist trainers, motivators and were involved in attacks on security forces.

“Terrorist Usman was also involved in the attack on security forces on October 14, 2020 in which Captain Umer Cheema, two JCOs [Junior Commissioned Officer] and three soldiers embraced shahadat while four other were injured,” the ISPR added.

On January 10, it was reported Sepoy Naseer embraced martyrdom during an IBO on a terrorist hideout in Kani Roga, Doga Macha, North Waziristan District (NWD).

Two terrorists were also killed in the operation, the ISPR revealed.
