'Police officers or terrorists?': Twitter up in arms over Osama Satti's death
The death of a 22-year-old student in Islamabad after police opened fire on his vehicle on the pretext of him not pulling over snowballed into a Twitter storm with calls for justice to be served.
Osama Satti, who was on his way back after dropping his friend to Shams Colony, was fired at by the capital city's Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) personnel.
The incident spread like wildfire on the micro-blogging site as micro-bloggers lashed out at the 'police brutality', as well as, demanding that those responsible be taken to taken.
Netizen Waseem Tariq questioned how the Islamabad Police brazenly took the 22-year-old's life saying,"Is this the Islamabad Police or terrorists?".
While lawyer Hassan Niazi said that "he was murdered - nation cries.You attacked our naya Pakistan. Heart bleeds!!!"
Journalist Asad Ali Toor claimed to show the postmortem report, which he cited as evidence of the "police brutality" and the "fake encounter".
Fatima Raja, another Twitter user, also seconded the journalist's opinon. She said that killing innocent civilians is terrorism.
