Harry Styles crowned Style Icon of 2020, dethroning Kendall Jenner, Meghan Markle among others
British heartthrob Harry Styles’ style has been one of the most talked-about things this year, especially after his iconic Vogue cover dress. And the singer has now been crowned the most searched for celebrity style icon of 2020.
The end of every year brings with itself many questions. And one of the most frequently asked ones in the realm of fashion is “Who was the most stylish celebrity of the year?” Even though fashion could not be prioritised amid the pandemic, while many swore by comfy classics like tie-dye, joggers and tracksuits, one person continually upped the ante in the outfit department: Styles, of course.
Research by Money.co.uk found that Billie Eilish, Kendall Jenner and Meghan Markle were also among the top 10 most Googled celebrity style icons, but it was the former One Directioner and now face of Gucci who ultimately took the crown.
Styles’ often ‘controversial’ style stole the show as he nailed one androgynous look after another. For those who don’t know, he became a topic of heated debate on social media after gracing the cover of Vogue’s December issue in a Gucci dress.
The year also saw him styling other jaw-dropping outfits including a custom-made Palomo powder blue suit and frill blouse. The Watermelon Sugar hit maker’s selection of frilly blouses, pearl necklaces and statement suits proved him to be popular beyond his home in the UK. He is also being deemed the most stylish celebrity in 17 other countries, including Australia and Mexico.
