Blast reported at a bank in Karachi's Paposh Nagar

Nature of the blast is yet to be determined

KARACHI:

An explosion took place inside a private bank in the Paposh Nagar area of ​​Karachi on Friday.

According to Express, the blast shattered the bank’s windows and shutter, however, no casualties were reported as the bank was closed.

Police and rescue officials reached the location and cordoned off the area.

“The nature of the blast is yet to be determined,” the police official said adding that the blast also damaged a vehicle and several motorcycles in the vicinity.

In October, a bomb blast in Karachi’s Shireen Jinnah Colony injured six people.

The explosive device was fitted in a motorcycle parked outside a tyre shop near the bus terminal.

The injured were shifted to the nearby hospital where two are stated to be in critical condition. It was carried out to spread fear and panic among citizens, suspected the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD).

According to an eyewitness, speaking to The Express Tribune, screams and smoke filled the air when the blast occurred.

Another eyewitness claimed that the motorcycle was left outside the tyre shop by a suspected terrorist.
