Cops found ‘framing’ citizens in drug cases
Two videos of police allegedly kidnapping citizens and then framing them in fake drug cases have raised questions on the credibility of such cases.
Two citizens of Rawalpindi were allegedly detained by police in different areas of the city and framed in fake drug recovery cases.
Closed-circuit television (CCTV)video shows cops arresting citizens from outside their homes, but FIRs against them state they were arrested from a different area.
Raja Nabeel, nominated in a drug possession case, was picked up from outside his home in Attock, according to CCTV footage, however, police claim that they recovered drugs from him at a place miles away.
Police took Nabeel to the Taxila police station and lodged an FIR against him for drug possession near Jhalar Thop Junction.
Rawalpindi police spokesperson said that City Police Officer (CPO) Ahsan Younus has taken notice of the FIR registered against Nabeel and ordered Potohar SP Syed Ali to probe the matter. The final decision will be taken in light of the report. In another video, Westridge police picked up Faheem from his house, but said he was arrested near Service Road and drugs were recovered from him.
