Former ISI chief Lieutenant General (retd) Asad Durrani on Wednesday retracted his application challenging the December 7, 2020 order to summon him at the Pakistan Army GHQ from the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The plea might be filed at the Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench on Thursday (today).
Durrani was called to attend a meeting with the GHQ adjutant general.
On Wednesday, the application was heard by IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah.
The court in its written order stated that Durrani had challenged the December 7 notification whereby he was called at the GHQ.
The IHC observed that relief was not sought against the Ministry of Defence but the plea was filed against the GHQ order, which does not fall within the ambit of the court.
Durrani’s counsel Omer Farouk Adam informed the court that his client wanted to withdraw the application saying the matter came within the jurisdiction of the LHC Rawalpindi bench.
The court accepted Durrani’s request and disposed of the plea.
