Balochistan government spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani on Wednesday said that the provincial government has begun enforcing coronavirus SOPs on the general public.
While addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club, Shahwani highlighted how the second wave of Covid-19 has taken a dangerous turn in the country, according to the data released by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).
He added that a surge in coronavirus cases is being reported throughout the country currently.
“57 patients of Covid-19 are undergoing treatment at Fatima Jinnah Chest and General Hospital and Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital in Quetta,” Shahwani said. “28 patients have been placed on a ventilator in the same hospitals.”
Responding to a question pertaining to polio, he said that an anti-polio drive was being carried out throughout the province. “Polio awareness campaigns were halted due to coronavirus.”
