Steps being taken for digitisation

The minister was of the view that the use of e-office would improve performance of government departments

Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Syed Aminul Haque has emphasised that the IT ministry is committed to promoting information technology in the country and steps are being taken for digitalisation. He made the remarks while chairing a meeting on the implementation of e-office project on Thursday. Federal IT Secretary Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui and National Information Technology Board (NITB) CEO Shabahat Ali Shah were present in the meeting. During deliberations, the IT minister was given a detailed briefing on the installation of e-office in government departments. The minister was of the view that the use of e-office would not only improve performance of government departments but would also ensure transparency in public services. “Provision of broadband services in the country is the top most priority,” he stressed. Meeting participants agreed to provide the latest version of e-office to the provinces.
