London diaspora pledges support for investment

The Pakistani business community in London hosted a reception in honour of Federal Minister for Board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh during his official visit to the United Kingdom, according to a statement issued on Saturday.

The event was attended by prominent members of the Pakistani diaspora, business leaders, investors and professionals from diverse sectors. The reception reflected the strong engagement of overseas Pakistanis and their continued commitment to contributing to Pakistan's economic growth and global outreach.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister appreciated the vital role played by the Pakistani business community abroad in strengthening Pakistan's economic footprint globally. He highlighted the government's investor-friendly policies and reiterated Pakistan's commitment to facilitating foreign investment, improving ease of doing business and fostering international partnerships.

Sheikh underscored that Pakistan was actively engaging with global stakeholders to promote investment opportunities, enhance professional standards and build sustainable economic linkages. During his visit, he has been holding key meetings with international financial leaders and institutions to boost investment cooperation and diaspora engagement.

He further emphasised that overseas Pakistanis were a valuable asset and a bridge between Pakistan and the global business community. Their participation is crucial in attracting investment, promoting trade and strengthening Pakistan's image internationally, he added.
