Four held over nationalist leader’s murder

HYDERABAD:

The Tando Allahyar police on Saturday arrested four suspects, including a relative of the key accused, over the murder of Sindh Taraqi Pasand party vice-chairperson Altaf Jiskani.

SSP Rukhsar Ahmed Khuward told the media the suspects were rounded up in a raid in Tagio Rind village, Sanghar district. One of those arrested has been identified as Ashraf Rind, reportedly a relative of key suspect Aslam Rind.

Jiskani was allegedly killed by Rind, Khalilur Rehman alias Bholo Khanzada, Zameer Rind, Mashooq alias Papu Rind and two unknown assailants. They have been booked under Sections 302, 147, 148 and 149 of Pakistan Penal Code and Section 6/7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.

According to Jiskani’s brother Zeeshan, who claims to be an eyewitness, the six assailants were riding on three motorbikes when they opened fire on Jiskani in his car.
