ISLAMABAD:

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan has asserted that naked aggression along the Line of Control (LoC) and India’s involvement in terrorist activities inside Pakistan have exposed New Delhi before the international community.

"The world community is now convinced that India is a terrorist state which is poised to destroy peace and security of not only South Asia but the world as well," President Masood said while talking to media along with Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Shehryar Afridi after visiting the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) to enquire after the health of those injured in the Indian shelling along the LoC.

The AJK president said that India is resorting to naked aggression against the defenceless citizens of Azad Kashmir in order to divert attention of the world from the stiff resistance being offered by the defenceless Kashmiris and the worst human rights violations being committed by its forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

“Indian belligerence is seriously imperilling peace and stability in the region. Indian occupation forces, along LoC, are deliberately targeting civilian populated areas in utter disregard for all international obligations, human rights and military conduct,” he added.

He went on to say that India must realise that its cowardly acts can neither deter the Kashmiri people from liberation struggle nor can prevent the people of Azad Kashmir from raising their voice against the repression being perpetrated against their brothers and sisters in IIOJK.

Masood called upon the United Nations to take strict action against India after surfacing of the concrete evidence of Indian involvement in terrorist activities in Balochistan and other parts of Pakistan.

“India transporting and implanting ISIS [Islamic State] operatives in Pakistan and UN Security Council Committee pursuant to Resolutions 1967, 1989 and 2253 should consider measures including assets freeze, travel ban and arms embargo,” he demanded. The AJK president said that Chuck Hagel, a powerful figure in the US, publicly corroborated USG’s knowledge about Indian sponsored terrorism against Pakistan.

While paying tributes to armed forces of Pakistan and 500,000 people living along the LoC in Azad Kashmir for valiantly and courageously facing the Indian shelling, he assured that neither the armed forces of Pakistan are ignorant about the protection of their life and property nor the Azad Kashmir government would leave them alone in this difficult hour.

The relevant government agencies and departments are actively fulfilling their responsibilities to respond to the situation erupted out of the Indian shelling, he added.

Masood also said that construction of bunkers for the protection of citizens living along the LoC and payment of compensation to those martyred and injured in the Indian shelling is being intensified.

He also thanked the CMH commandant and the administration for providing satisfactory treatment to those injured in the cross-border shelling.

On this occasion, Shehryar Afridi said that the war hysteria of the Indian fanatic rulers has posed a danger to the peace of not only this region, but even the people of India because the Modi-led government want to push its own nation into war. "Their war hysteria negates Narendra Modi's claims about rising and shining India."

He said that the proofs of Indian involvements in terrorism inside Pakistan which DG ISPR Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had made public, would be placed before the United Nations and the international community.

A day before, the foreign minister and DG ISPR, in a joint media conference, had categorically stated that "India is sabotaging CPEC and is supporting terrorism in Pakistan".
