The coronavirus death toll in Balochistan has risen to 154 amid the second Covid-19 wave. The rising virus cases have alarmed the provincial government, prompting them to take strict measures to fight the deadly disease.

Balochistan department of health’s media coordinator confirmed 14 new coronavirus cases in the province on Sunday. “Patients affected by Covid-19 in the province have also been recovering. The situation seems to better as far as the facts and figures of recovered persons are concerned. Most of the patients have recovered at their homes while battling the virus,” he said.

According to the Balochistan Coronavirus Cell, 343,402 people were screened till Sunday. Out of the screened tests, only 117,547 tested negative. It is pertinent to mention that false negativity rate of the PCR test is quite high.

“The coronavirus had been gradually decreasing across Balochistan. It is a global issue and not restricted to any country neither it is limited to any tribe or sect,” said the media coordinator.
