Balochistan asks federal govt for more testing kits

CM Kamal expressed satisfaction over the steps taken by the provincial authorities so far to fight the virus

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal on Tuesday directed health authorities to immediately contact the federal government to seek testing kits and medical equipment for the province in order to fight the second wave of coronavirus effectively.

Presiding over a high-level meeting at the CM House, he said that the people were unaware of the danger posed by the second wave of coronavirus in the province.

The meeting reviewed the overall situation of Covid-19 in the province and measures taken by the health department and other institutions.

CM Kamal expressed satisfaction over the steps taken by the provincial authorities so far to fight the virus.

Health secretary Noor-ul-Haq briefed the meeting about the implementation of proactive measures and increasing testing capacity of the virus. Other officials also updated the chief minister on their work.

The provincial chief executive expressed apprehension that the non-serious attitude of the people could result in non-implementation of precautionary measures.
