Two held for making fake Facbook IDs

Suspects upload objectionable pictures of women

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing team claimed to have arrested two suspects for making fake Facebook IDs of two women, including a university student and making objectionable pictures viral.

Police recovered mobile phones and other items from his possession and registered a case.

Abdullah Ariful Mahmood, a resident of Gulistan Colony Street No 2, had requested FIA Cyber Crime Assistant Director Shoaib Haroon that his sister Maryam Arif was studying at the Textile University.

Accused Anfal Waris created a fake profile of her and uploaded her objectionable pictures on Facebook.

He later posted the image on WhatsApp.

FIA Cyber Crime Sub-Inspector Omar Rehman and Sub-Inspectors Danial Amjad and Samar Abbas raided Street No 3, Iqbalpura, Sangla Hill, Nankana District, arrested the accused Anfal Waris and interrogated him.

He admitted that he had uploaded the content using a fake Facebook ID.

In another case, Mohammad Imran created a fake Facebook ID of Saba Arif, a resident of Ghulam Mohammad Abad No 1, and uploaded objectionable material from his mobile phone.

He was also raided and arrested by the FIA cybercrime team, his mobile and laptop was seized from him and the interrogation process has started.

Several cybercrime incidents were reported in the past.

On September 5, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cybercrime team raided and arrested two suspects involved in blackmailing a lady constable and a teenager boy over objectionable photos.

Shoaib Haroon, Assistant Director, FIA Cybercrime Wing had received a complaint lodged by Police Constable Farah Bibi, daughter of Ghulam Rasool, resident of 71GB Sarli, that she was friends with the accused, Adnan Haider, a resident of Chak No 74 GB Thikriwala.

He blackmailed her with doctored photos and extorted Rs35,000 from her. Later, he went on to send the tailored objectionable photos to her husband when he returned from abroad, to make sure that he divorces her.

The lady constable sought help from the FIA cybercrime wing to nab the accused.

An FIA team raided the resident of the suspect with the help of Thikriwala police.
