Arrested accused says he wanted to marry one of the victims

Police have arrested a man and his sister for allegedly throwing acid on two teenage sisters in Saddar area.

According to the complainant, 15-year-old Sabia and 14-year-old Bushra, daughters of Abdul Majeed, a resident of Kot Umar Farooq Chak 215 RB, were taken from her home by Safia Bibi, wife of Allah Ditta, a resident of then same area, on the pretext of attending a Milad gathering, where Safia's brother Aleem, son of Ashraf, threw acid on them.

Both sisters suffered burn injuries in the attack. Rescue 1122 personnel shifted them to Civil Hospital after providing initial medical aid.

Sub Inspector Sanaullah, the investigation in charge, raided various places and arrested the accused Aleem and Safia. A case was registered against the suspects.

The arrested accused Aleem told the police during interrogation that he wanted to marry Sabia and had attacked her because she had talked to another boy.
