Armed men steal Rs3.5m in broad daylight

The traders tried to resist the robbers

RAWALPINDI:

Four armed men riding on motorbikes stole Rs3.5 million from two traders near Haji Chowk in broad daylight on Friday. Upon resistance, the robbers shot and injured the trader and fled.

Rawal Division SP Rai Mazhar Iqbal said that two businessmen, Habib and Saeed, were heading to the bank to deposit Rs3.5 million in the bank.

However, four armed men riding on motorbikes intercepted traders' car at Haji Chowk.

The traders tried to resist the robbers but one of the armed men fire at them. As a result, Habib was seriously injured. The robbers snatched the money and fled.

Later, Habib was rushed to the Benazir Bhutto Hospital where doctors were treated him and described his condition as out of danger.

SP Iqbal said that the Sadiqabad police station has registered a case for the incident and have launched an investigation.
