Man held for raping 24-year-old niece
The police on Sunday booked a man for allegedly subjecting his 24-year-old niece to sexual assault on the outskirts of Peshawar.
A police official, while requesting anonymity because he was not authorised to speak to the media, told The Express Tribune that a Badhaber resident told them that she works as domestic help. She added that her brother-in-law had been allegedly abusing her 24-year-old daughter in her absence.
The complainant added that the suspect had been allegedly sexually assaulting the victim over an extended period. The official added that based on a complaint, an FIR has been registered against the suspect under the relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
The official said they then sent a squad which arrested the suspect while further investigations are underway. The officer added that they have collected samples from the suspect for DNA tests to prove the assault.
Last week, the Charsadda police arrested the key suspect in the rape and murder of a three-year-old minor girl in the district. A medical exam revealed the minor was raped, after which she was killed with a slash from a knife.
