PESHAWAR:

The Pakistan Democratic Movement’s rally in Gujranwala is a public referendum against the government which will conclude at its ouster.

The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) spokesperson Mian Iftikhar Hussain said this in a statement on Saturday.

He said the struggle for ouster of the incumbent government has just begun and more such massive public rallies would be held across the country.

The PDM spokesperson said that the despite hurdles, large number of people gathered at the Jinnah Stadium in Gujranwala. He demanded of the government to accept its failure and announce fresh elections.

Hussain further stated that the PDM’s rally in Karachi would be bigger than the Gujranwala’s rally as people are tired of the incumbent government.

The public is fed up with the Imran Khan’s government and wants to get rid of this cruel set-up, he claimed.

Meanwhile, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Labour and Culture Minister Shaukat Yousafzai has said that the opposition alliance under the banner of PDM has failed to mobilise people from K-P for their rally in Gujranwala.

Yousafzai said this as he addressed media in Peshawar on Saturday. He said the public from across the country and particularly people of K-P have rejected the agenda of PDM.

He claimed that the public have shown confidence in the policies of K-P Chief Minister Mahmood Khan by rejecting the call of the PDM.

The provincial minister said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had been in power during the previous government in the province and won the elections to form a government for the second time with a two-thirds majority.
