Eight booked for swindling man

Victim complained he was deprived of Rs500,000 cash, 15 tola gold

Eight suspected fraudsters were booked for allegedly depriving an overseas Pakistani of Rs500,000 in cash and 15 tola of gold on Saturday.

Mohsin Shehzad Khan filed a case with police stating that he is an overseas Pakistani. Reportedly, he was upset due to domestic problems. Meanwhile, he saw an advertisement on social media in the name of ‘Bawa Mushtaq Masih,’ in which the solution of every domestic problem was claimed by the suspects.

When he contacted the phone number given in the advertisement, the accused Zeeshan Ali Shahid, posing as Mushtaq Masih, said that the victim must Rs500,000 cash and 15 tola gold.

The accused called Mohsin in Sammundari Road, where they allegedly hypnotised him. Reportedly, the victim started feeling dizzy and fell down while the accused took the bag of gold and cash and fled. Dijkot police registered a case under Sections 419, 420 and 25D Telegraph Act and started raids to arrest him.
