Drainage system for Sector I-12 soon
To develop service roads and a drainage system in the long-stalled Sector I-12, the apex civic agency has received technical and financial bids for the first phase of development work in the sector.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) had decided to complete stalled development works in Sector I-12, and had invited bids from companies for the first phase of projects for which it had released an estimated Rs284.74 million.
Development activities are expected to soon commence in the sector after the CDA opened technical bids that it had received for the project.
These technical bids will be evaluated by a committee set up by the CDA. Thereafter, for those firms who qualify, their financial bids will be opened by the authority and the final tender will be awarded.
In the first phase, construction of service roads North, East and West will be carried out in addition to the construction of box culverts while a drainage system will also be established.
All administrative and technical issues in this regard were resolved apart from resolving issues being faced to allottees of the sector. Recently, the CDA conducted two transparent ballotings to allott alternative plots in lieu of plots which were deleted due to a revision in the layout plan or those which had been double allotted.
F-9 Park illumination
Meanwhile, the CDA has completed work on installing lights in and around Sector F-9 Park - also known as Fatima Jinnah Park.
Maintenance work on the park, including its lighting, had been neglected for several months.
The authority said that after four directorates were repatriated to the CDA by the interior ministry from the elected Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC), particular attention was being paid to the Sector F-9 Park.
In this regard, the CDA management had constituted a special team of the street light division to repair lights in the park apart from installing new lights in previously ignored parts of the park. The electric cable network in the entire park was also rehabilitated.
Lights were installed or replaced along the walking tracks of the park, at gates facing Sector G-9, F-8, F-10 gate and at Baradari.
Moreover, to fix any emerging faults, a team of the street light division has been deputed in the night shift.
