Woman, children die of electrocution

By a high transmission wire while working in a rice field

HYDERABAD:

A young woman, her son and a girl were electrocuted to death by a high transmission wire while working in a rice field in Mehmood Khoso village in Golarchi, Badin district, on Saturday. The deceased were identified as 30-year-old Meeran Kohli, 14-year-old Prakash and 16-year-old Laikhi. Area residents told the media that the wire, belonging to Hyderabad Electric Supply Company, was hardly six feet above the ground. They added that the woman was carrying a basket on her head which touched the wire. Prakash and Laikhi were reportedly electrocuted as they tried to rescue her.
