CDA urged to expedite plan approval process
Traders of the federal capital on Thursday urged the apex civic authority of the city to streamline the process for approving building plans for commercial centres.
This was urged by Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Sardar Yasir Khan on Thursday.
He said that with the economy in flux, delays in approval of building plans and hence the timelines for completing buildings can have a tremendous impact on the overall cost of projects.
In a statement, Yasir said that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) should streamline this lengthy process to save investors from unnecessary losses.
Addressing a delegation of Islamabad Estate Agents Association (IEAA) led by its President Sardar Tahir Mehmood, Yasir said that around 95% of the issues faced by traders and industrialists in the federal capital relate to the CDA.
However, the ICCI president suggested working with the authority for the resolution of these issues.
IEAA President Mehmood said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced an attractive package for the construction industry to revive the economy which was valid until December but the FBR has issued an SRO which can affect the package significantly.
