CHAMAN:

The All Parties Traders Union continued their protests against the kidnapping of Awami National Party (ANP) press secretary Asad Khan Achakzai, turning it into a sit-in in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The ANP press secretary was abducted 12 days ago from Quetta Airport Road by unknown individuals, prompting ANP provincial leaders to block the Chaman-Quetta highway that resulted in a food shortage in the city. However, the highway was later reopened on humanitarian grounds and protests was shifted outside the DC Chaman’s office. “We don’t even know if he is alive or not, but no the government is still a silent spectator to the kidnapping of Achakzai, which is a question mark on the rulers,” speakers said on the occasion.
