Police, prosecutors told to hold regular moots
Police officers and public prosecutors were urged to hold regular meetings so that they can discuss cases at length.
This was suggested during a conference of police investigation officers and district public prosecutors which concluded in Abbottabad on Sunday.
Hazara police Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Qazi Jamilur Rehman, while chairing the conference at the conference hall of Hazara Police, directed the Superintendent Police of Investigations of all districts in the region to hold meetings with the district public prosecutors every month so that prosecutors can guide investigation officers in important cases of the district.
The district public prosecutors stressed the need for frequently organizing such conferences as it provided them with an opportunity to raise their issues and suggestions with investigators.
Moreover, they briefed the DIG in detail about the number of pending cases in different courts.
They also suggested the early resolution of pending cases.
Addressing the conference, the DIG directed that police prosecutors and staff of the investigation department should make the liaison between them and hold monthly meetings regularly in this regard where all aspects of the pending cases are discussed and the case file is prepared adequately before being presented in court.
