ISLAMABAD:

All Pakistan Tenure Track Association (APTTA) has announced to stage a protest against the policies of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) next month.

APTTA officials said that they would stage a protest against HEC’s exploitation on October 12.

The association expressed disappointment over the non-implementation of proposed recommendations approved in the 36th meeting of the commission.

They said that the commission was using dilatory tactics and infringing rights of the teachers working under the Tenure Track System (TTS).

APTTA officials vowed that they would not compromise on the interests of the educators.

APTTA President Dr Khurram Shehzad said that the TTS seemed much puzzled when compared to the basic pay scale (BPS) system. He claimed that the educators under TTS were being crushed under the exploitative policies of the HEC and universities.

APTTA General Secretary Zaigham Zia said that the ban on recruitment and promotion of TTS educators was a blow to professional competition.

He added that the TTS teachers did not get an increment for the past five years while during the same span, the teachers in the BPS system received a 35% increment.
