The victim was found lying unconscious on a roadside

Individuals involved in crimes like gang rape and child molestation can sometimes slip through the legal system.

MEERUT, INDIA:

In a third such incident reported in Uttar Pradesh, India, in a month, a woman was gang-raped on a bus to Delhi the entire Friday night and later thrown out of the bus, Gulf News reported.

The survivor was found lying unconscious on a roadside in Meerut. She was transferred to a local hospital where she later narrated her horrifying ordeal.

According to reports, the woman boarded the bus from the Bhaisali bus stand on Friday night to go to Delhi. The bus staff offered her a spiked drink that made her lose consciousness.

The bus driver and the conductor raped the woman multiples times before throwing her off of the moving bus on a deserted road.

Police confirmed the incident and recorded the survivor's statement before medical examination. Efforts were underway to nab the suspects, said a statement issued by SSP Meerut.

Incidents of rape have, unfortunately, been a common occurrence in both India and Pakistan. It is widely believed that not as many rapes are reported as many are committed.

Earlier this month, the rape of a woman in front of her children on the Lahore motorway created much furore. While one of the two suspects accused of the crime was arrested within a week, the other accused - also considered the prime suspect - still remains at large.
