FAISALABAD:

Police claimed to have arrested two swindlers who allegedly fleeced a man on the pretext of helping his daughter pass a medical entry test in Faisalabad on Sunday.

A case was registered against the two accused who were involved in fraudulently collecting Rs700,000 from the victim.

A case had been registered by Riaz Mehmood, a resident of Pananwala Chowk, Mianwala Road, in People’s Colony police station which stated that Riaz took his daughter to Faisal Hospital for the medical entrance test.

Police said when the candidate reached near the test centre to take the exam, the swindlers stood outside said centre where they met her father.

Meanwhile, the accused Lala Nawaz and Anwar, son of Habibullah, met Riaz and convinced him that they could help his daughter pass the medical entry test and get her admitted in the MBBS programme. The accused claimed that all this work would cost Riaz Rs700,000.

He agreed to pay the hefty amount to the swindlers. However, after Riaz’s daughter did not pass the medical entry test, he contacted the accused who refused to refund the money.

A People’s Colony police team began searching for the two suspects.
