Police registered as many as 678 FIRs against 690 suspects allegedly involved in keeping unlicensed arms over the last month. The accused also reportedly displayed weapons on social media platforms through posting of videos and photographs of aerial firing acts and allegedly terrorising residents of their respective areas. During the grand operation against the illegal weapons, Lahore Police recovered at least 40 rifles, six Kalashnikovs, 24 guns, nine revolvers and 583 pistols as well as more than 4,000 bullets from their possession. City Division police arrested 182 suspects, Cantt Division 132, Civil Lines 64, Saddar 125, Iqbal Town 81 and Model Town division police arrested 106 suspects during the operation.
