PESHAWAR:

Arrangements are complete to host the two-day Broghil Festival, which is expected to kick off at the Broghil National Park in Upper Chitral today.

This is the first major, the indigenous cultural festival of the year in the province after the novel coronavirus restrictions were lifted

Organised by the K-P Tourism Department (TCKP) and the local administration of Upper Chitral district, the festival will showcase various activities, including traditional horse and yak polo, buzkashi, cricket, football, marathon race, tug-of-war, wrestling, music and other traditional games.

A traditional music and food showcase of the local Wakhi culture along with a fireworks display will round off the main attractions of the festival.

A tent village has been set up to facilitate participants and tourists.

Provincial Secretary Abid Majeed said that after the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown at tourist attractions were lifted, tourism activities have resumed in the province.
