MULTAN:

Deputy Commissioner Aamir Khattak on Friday said a grand operation would be launched to remove encroachments from the city in order to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow and beautification of the city. Holding a meeting with the leaders of local trader union, Khattak said no one would be allowed to set up shops at roads and footpaths.

He remarked that district administration was busy in arrangements regarding Muharram and flood. He added that special focus would be given on the eradication of encroachments now. The deputy commissioner said that alternate places would be given to roadside vendors affected by the operation against encroachments.

He said a remarkable improvement in the performance of WASA has been noticed after a long time as the company has increased the number of work force and machinery.
