Punjab records 72 new Covid-19 cases
No Covid-19 inflicted death was reported in Punjab during the last 24 hours while the number of coronavirus cases in the province reached 97,461 after registration of 72 new cases.
A spokesperson for the Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) revealed that so far the total number of deaths has been recorded as 2,213 in total.
The P&SHD confirmed that 28 new cases of coronavirus were reported in Lahore and 15 in Rawalpindi.
Moreover, four new virus cases were confirmed in Gujranwala, three each in Faisalabad and Bahawalpur, two each in Mandi Bahauddin, Chiniot, Multan and Pakpatan, and one each in Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Gujrat, Vehari, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, and Okara districts.
Covid-19 claims 60 more lives in Punjab
The Punjab health department has conducted 1,035,861 Covid-19 tests while 94,244 confirmed virus patients have recovered in the province.
The department urged the people to follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for their protection and cover their faces with mask.
“People should wash their hands with soap several times a day to protect themselves from the pandemic,” the spokesperson said. “Contact the emergency helpline immediately on witnessing symptoms of coronavirus,” he added.
