Former AD MSD arrested in Rs400m corruption case

Embezzled money in the supply of anti-rabies injections

The National Accountability Bureau Balochistan on Tuesday arrested former Additional Director Medical Store Department (MSD) Balochistan and two others in embezzlement charges of over Rs400 million.

Former Additional Director MSD Dr Zulfiqar Ali Baloch in connivance with Medical Technician and proprietors of Ali Umer Enterprises namely Khalid Bhatti and Faqeer Hussain allegedly embezzled over Rs400 million during supply of Anti-rabies injections to government hospitals of Balochistan.

Initial investigations revealed that the accused received over Rs400 million in advance but did not supply the injections to MSD. Taking action on the orders issued by Chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, NAB arrested all the accused persons. They would be produced before the accountability court for obtaining their remand.

DG NAB Balochistan Farmanullah Khan while reiterating NAB’s resolve against corruption said that corrupt elements would be taken to task.
