PESHAWAR:

The top court of the province on Monday sought a forensic report over videos which had gone viral on social media showing police officers torturing a man who had earlier spoken ill of the police.

This was directed as the Peshawar High Court (PHC) Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Sheikh heard a bail plea filed by SHO Imranuddin and Shehriyar in the Radiullah alias Amir Tehlkai torture case.

Lamenting the lack of forensic science services, Seth said that the different forensic laboratories in the country in their report have previously shown liquor as honey.

The suspects’ lawyer, Danyal Asad, said that his client had been arrested on charges of beating and stripping naked Radiullah after his video went viral in which he was abusing the police.

The lawyer contended that his clients were not involved in the case and that the forensic report of the video was yet to be received. The forensic lab, he said, had been sent the video on July 21 to analyse on which mobiles it was filmed on and through which devices were it shared on social media.

Asad maintained that three constables shared the video a vide of his clients.
