
Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed dismay over unsatisfactory performance of the local bodies with regard to poor sanitation in some areas of the province
He was presiding over a high-level meeting about the local government system at CM Office on Sunday.
The chief minister went on to warn the officials that those who do not perform well would not be allowed to continue working on their posts.
“The local government funds have been restored throughout the province, which will help in starting a new era of development at the grassroots level,” said CM Sardar Usman Buzdar.
He told the meeting that the provincial government was preparing for the local bodies elections as the transfer of power to grassroots level will ensure that the problems experienced by the people are immediately solved by local representatives.
The chief minister directed the officials concerned to accelerate the promotion process of local bodies sub-engineers and expedite recruitment on the vacant building inspector posts.
“The number of Baldia Online App users rising up to 200,000 is a good omen,” he said, adding, “Six services, including birth and marriage certificates issuance, are being provided through this application.”
Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat and other officials were present during the meeting.
