K-P to get Forensic agency

The provincial government has decided to set up a forensic science agency in the province. The agency will be empowered to provide a scientific opinion on evidence or any other matter before a court or any government authority. It is expected to be set up through an act of the provincial legislature, the proposed K-P Forensic Science Agency Act 2020. The forensic agency will be led by a director-general, while a forensic laboratory will also be established under the agency.

The DG will be appointed by the search committee which is headed by the K-P CS.
