MUZAFFARGARH:

A pregnant lady who received medication at a local hospital for snake bite passed away after a few hours of the treatment on Friday.

The woman was seven months pregnant according to the family of the victim.

The husband of the deceased woman, Muhammad Nadeem, alleged that she passed away due to doctor’s negligence. Reportedly, the doctor had discharged the lady without completing the desired medical treatment.

Muhammad Nadeem filed an application with the local police station against the accused doctor. The district representative of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sahil Chandio has hinted at submitting a call to attention notice in the parliament through the party’s parliamentarians to discuss the issue in the house.

The 22-year-old victim has been identified as Anusha. She was reportedly brought to the DHQ hospital by her husband after she was bitten by a snake on her finger. Detailing the account of the incident, Muhammad Nadeem said he had tied a bandage on the affected finger to prevent snake poison spreading inside the victim’s entire body.

“The on-duty doctor, Muhammad Naseer, forcibly removed this bandage and injected the victim with some medication,” he added.

Nadeem said his wife breathed her last when they arrived at home.
