It was not only Karachi or Defence Housing Authority that had been submerged in the rainwater; rather half of Sindh was flooded, said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary leader in the Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh on Wednesday.

Sheikh visited several rain-affected areas of Sindh, distributing tents among people in Sindhri and Hingorno and later arriving in Khipro to meet those who had suffered due to the rains.

Talking to the media, the PTI leader said that the Sindh government had declared many areas as calamity-hit, but the people had not yet been provided relief.

"To save their own lands, the feudal lords of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) deliberately inundated the villages and farms of poor people," he alleged, adding that the PPP was only providing aid to its party workers.

He claimed he had formulated several recommendations for Prime Minister Imran Khan during his visit, adding that the premier would also visit Umerkot and Khipro.

Stating that the Centre was assisting the Sindh government during these testing times, Sheikh demanded the provincial government announce a comprehensive relief package for rain-hit people.
