Sindh chief secretary (CS) Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah claimed on Wednesday that the provincial government had appointed 3,822 people under the deceased quota since 2019.

He said this while presiding over a meeting to review agendas including the deceased quota and other matters.

Shah claimed that the five per cent quota for differently-abled persons had been implemented. He further directed all secretaries to ensure the quota's implementation by issuing job advertisements.

The meeting was also briefed about the regularisation of employees under the Sindh (Regularisation of Ad Hoc and Contract Employees) Act, 2013. "The employees who are to be made permanent under the act should be made permanent soon and the court should be informed about those who cannot be made permanent," said Shah. Referring to fresh recruitment, Shah said that hiring would be done through IBA, Sukkur.
