PM calls for early completion of Ravi Riverfront project

Imran terms it a masterpiece for residents of Lahore, overseas Pakistanis

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday termed Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project a "masterpiece for the residents of Lahore and overseas Pakistanis" and called for ensuring its early completion in line with international standards.

“Keep in view the aspects, including environmental protection, permanent solution of water scarcity and water pollution, while carrying out construction work,” Premier Imran directed the officials while chairing a review meeting on progress of the project in Lahore.

PM Imran expressed satisfaction over the growth and encouraging trend witnessed in the construction industry following the incentives offered by the government.

The prime minister lauded the interest shown by the foreign investment companies in the Ravi Riverfront project, saying that it would prove to be a landmark construction site equipped with modern amenities.

Imran issued directives to monitor the project on a daily basis and remove administrative impediments in the way of its smooth implementation.

He also asked the concerned authorities to keep him updated about the progress of the project.

The meeting was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Adviser to PM Barrister Shahzad Akbar, Special Assistant Zulfikar Bukhari, provincial Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chauhan, Naya Pakistan Housing Authority Chairman Lt Gen (retd) Anwar Ali Haider, Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project Chairman Rashid Aziz and senior government officials.

Earlier, the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development chairman gave a detailed briefing on the project timelines and apprised the meeting about the interest of foreign investment companies in the project, infrastructure regulations and other administrative matters. (With additional input from app)
