The Balochistan government has placed a ban on websites and social media pages used to spread disinformation against the provincial government and their employees.

According to an official notification issued by the provincial government on Monday, Chief Minister Jam Kamal has taken serious notice of aforementioned pages and WhatsApp groups that were being used for character assassination of government functionariesand fanning ethnic rifts.

Government employees have also been asked to block the pages and groups involved in such activities. The heads of public departments and other organisations working under the provincial government have been directed to ensure the implementation on the directives of the chief minister and in case of non-compliance, strict disciplinary action will be taken by the CM, read the notification.
