DC urges NGOs to help rain affectees

MITHI:

Tharparkar deputy commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Soho urged non-governmental organisations on Friday to come forward and help those affected by the monsoon rains this season. Meeting NGO representatives in Mithi, he asked NGOs working in the food and nutrition sectors to provide 10,000 ration bags, while health-related NGOs were asked to work with Sindh Health Department teams. Soho further tasked NGOs working in other sectors with providing logistical support in relief operations, stressing the need for them to coordinate with the district control room. He also directed the social welfare additional director to chalk out a detailed sector-wise plan with a clear role for each organisation.
