TDAP to boost handicraft makers

TDAP will facilitate trading of Pakistani handicrafts besides providing a platform and all other required facilities

ISLAMABAD:

With handicrafts depicting the cultural heritage of Pakistan, the sector will be provided a boost by the trade authorities of the country.

This was stated by officials during the first virtual handicraft forum organised by the Handicrafts Association of Pakistan (HAP).

Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Director Shahzad Ahmed Khan said that his authority will extend all possible assistance to provide trading opportunities of handicraft manufacturers of the country.

Shahzad further pointed out that China as a market holds great potential for Pakistani handicrafts and that TDAP will facilitate trading of Pakistani handicrafts besides providing a platform and all other required facilities for the purpose.

HAP Chairman Fahad Barlas said that the cultural heritage of Pakistan has been depicted through handicrafts. Moreover, the finesse in them shows how skilled our artisans and craftsmen really are. He added that their contributions should be acknowledged. Later, he briefed about HAP’s plans on promoting handicrafts in the country.
