LAHORE:

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued a contempt of court notice to the additional chief secretary, special secretary and deputy secretary for submitting irrelevant documents on a petition challenging the granting of powers of judicial magistrate to commissioners and deputy commissioners.

The request of Punjab chief secretary for acceptance of immediate unconditional apology was rejected.

The chief justice remarked during the proceedings that he wanted to summon those people who were interested in exercising the courts’ powers.

The government lawyer said the relevant record had been submitted through a miscellaneous application. The court summoned the summary of the notification after the break.
