Court extends KE CEO's interim bail, man electrocuted to death and more

KARACHI:

Man electrocuted to death

A young man was electrocuted on Monday night during his shift at a factory in Haroonabad. The body of the deceased, identified as 18-year-old Atif, was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Boy's body washes ashore

The decomposing body of a boy, said to be around a week old, washed ashore near the Keamari fisheries on Monday night. The age of the deceased boy is estimated to be around seven years. The body was shifted to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital, before being taken to a morgue, and the police are awaiting the release of the post-mortem report to ascertain the cause of the death, according to Docks SHO Azam Rajpar. 

Court extends KE CEO's interim bail 

Karachi. A local court on Tuesday extended the interim bail of four accused, including K-Electric CEO Moonis Alvi and distribution head Amir Zia, in a case pertaining to the death of a youth due to electrocution outside a KE substation in Defence Housing Authority. Hearing the case at Karachi City Court, an additional district and sessions court extended the interim bail of the KE CEO and others until September 5. 

Young girl 'commits suicide'

A young girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the grill in the balcony of an apartment in Surjani Town on Tuesday. The police rushed to the spot after being informed and shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem. According to the Surjani Town SHO, the deceased, a ninth-grade student, was the daughter of a chief police constable. The girl's father told the police that he was asleep in the morning when he heard noise from the balcony and found his daughter's body there. The police are investigating the incident. 

Man beaten to death with hammer

A man was killed with hammer blows on his head in Ittehad Town on Tuesday. The body was shifted to Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital for medico-legal formalities, where the victim was identified as 30-year-old Arshad Parvez. The police arrested two brothers, Dilawar and Farooq Taj Mohammad, who were friends with the deceased, for being involved in the murder. The Ittehad Town police confirmed that Dilawar and Farooq had killed Parvez by attacking him with a hammer following a personal dispute and then dumped the body out of the house. They added that the suspects had confessed to the crime during in the initial interrogation, while a blood-soaked sheet and other evidence was collected from the house.
