SBCA continues demolition

The process of razing over 50 illegally constructed apartments, under the supervision of Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) director-general Ashkar Dawar, has entered its final stage.

Following the Supreme Court’s orders, the SBCA initiated the operation in Zia Colony four days ago. The two towers, comprising over 50 apartments, had been illegally constructed, while the plinth for the third was being laid when the judicial orders were passed.

According to Dawar, the whole building would soon be demolished after which they would submit a report in court. He added that 60 per cent of the demolition operation at Kidney Hill Park had also been completed.
