A scrap warehouse caught fire in Korangi on Monday, leaving the stored plastic and cardboard gutted. Three fire tenders and as many water tankers arrived at the scene after being informed about the incident and launched a fire extinguishing operation. According to the Korangi fire officer, the warehouse was built in a double-storey house, owned by a man named Faisal. He added that the fire-fighting team doused the blaze within half an hour, while the cooling process continued for another hour. According to fire department officials, the building was partially damaged in the incident. Meanwhile, Faisal’s brother complained that they had faced huge losses because the fire-fighting teams arrived late.
